GRASPING THE ISLAMIC CALENDAR

The Islamic calendar, also referred to as the Hijri calendar, is a lunar calendar structured around twelve lunar months. Unlike the Gregorian calendar, which we commonly employ, the Islamic calendar depends on the cycles of the moon. Each month begins with the sighting of the new moon and lasts approximately 29 or 30 days. This results in the Islam
